Meeting Zulfah Otto-sallies

On the 30th of January 2013 I met this amazing writer, film maker, producer etc, Zulfah Otto-Sallies. She grew up in the Bo-Kaap. She is big on culture and traditions.

She came to our school (Swartberg Secondary School) and gaved us an motivational speech. This speech inspired me so much. As you know i love to write about the truth and daily things that happens in our community or in a person's life. The thing that inspired me the most was the fact that her books and movies that she makes is only about her culture and and where she grew up. Which for me is very touching because i asked her but why does she only write about her community and her answer was:  the people in the that lives in the Bo-Kaap now has new traditions and she wants to remind them about how good the old ones was.
Me with Zulfah Otto- Sallies on the 30th January 2013

If you go to the Bo-Kaap today everything has changed. The point I want to make here is that, the older you get the more things change and you just have to decide that if you want to be part of that change or if you want to stay the same person you are. Change is sometimes good, but sometimes it's not. What I think you must not change is your values that you have as a person. The values of a person can tell us many things about a person and whom they will become in the future.

People remember to stay the same person that you are and to always great the world with a smile, because you alone can make the world a better place for yourself!
